Description

Join our busy and growing manufacturing company as a Software Quality Test Engineer. You will be provided coaching and training to build from your base of skills acquired from your past experiences.

You will learn our business during your training with our experts in Product Development, Engineering, and Customer Experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to developers
Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality
Update automated test scripts to ensure accuracy
Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations
Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
Conduct historical analyses of test results
All other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Very good knowledge of Python is a must, Experience with Postman or Python Requests is a plus
Good understanding of firmware test systems
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Very good knowledge of communication protocols such as RS232/485, MQTT, Bluetooth
Strong understanding of HW and electronic lab equipment (i.e. meters, oscilloscopes, & power supplies
Ability to do small solder jobs is a plus
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. UI/CLI/API and DB test
Experience with PYQT is a plus
Working knowledge of Git, Jira, and Confluence
Experience with Unit/ end-to-end / regression and integration testing
Familiarity with databases for test data push storage and data retrieval is considered an asset
Experience using (programming) ESP32 for test automation is a plus.

Education/Experience:

4 years degree in technology-related discipline
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Specialist
Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test results
Experience with regression, functional, and conformance testing
Strong experience writing test cases, testing, and documenting results for Windows Application software, web, and mobile applications
Must have experience with firmware test on simulators and/or hardware
Must have experience with test automation using Python/Java Scripts
