APEX is currently looking for a PS Executive to support the APEX Vision in the role of
APEX Executive - Head of Advisory Services for Executives.


The APEX Advisory Services for Executives (ASE) is a highly valued resource for Executives.

Through the leadership provided by the Head of the APEX Advisory Services, this confidential service, which is free of charge to all executives across the federal public service, is a cornerstone of the APEX services to executives.

Year over year number of executives reaching out for support has increased, along with the complexity of the cases we manage.

Additionally, while the ASE focus is to support individual executives, we also provide proactive support through resources and outreach to the executive community.


OVERVIEW


Reporting to the CEO, this position leads the confidential Advisory Service unit, to public service executives (ASE) across the country and abroad.


This role ensures that bilingual ASE services primarily retain and focus on the core personal Advisory Services; supporting the individual executive's well-being and ensures APEX retains the integrity and robustness of offering this service to the individual Executive.


Through a team of bilingual advisors, and while maintaining ASE core focus, the Advisory Services also input into the well being of the executive community.

The head also ensures provisions of key input toward research, advocacy, trends and EX support needs; supports APEX outreach relating to Executive Health and Wellbeing as it relates to Executive Advisory Services; and refers executives to specialized services, as required.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing the work of ASE, while ensuring focus on the provision of confidential advisory services that are relevant, sustainable, fully bilingual, and compassionate in a safe and neutral environment
  • Managing ASE workload distribution
  • Onboarding of new advisor(s)
  • Management the annual flux in the advisory services case load
  • Maintaining of an annual client satisfaction rate for ASE Services above 90%
  • Establishing a list of executive pain points based on internal research, client feedback and experiential knowledge
  • Developing problem statements to drive future research
  • Leading an increased awareness of Health and Wellness, Advisory Services
  • Leading identification of Advisory Services resource requirements based on demand
  • Leading outreach to membership and all the executive community to provide feedback, resources for self care and to promote the service
  • Leading the development and sharing of tools, materials to support Executive wellbeing
  • Developing and publication of a yearly Advisory Service for Executives (ASE)Report along with recommendations and outreach to support findings
  • Overseeing ASE integration with the Health and Wellness CoE
  • Representing APEX at Outreach events and activities (i

e:
presentations; resource) as appropriate


QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Experience managing teams, providing strategic advice, and briefing senior management experience
  • Experience in complaints and investigations is a strong asset

Knowledge

  • A very solid understanding of executive terms and conditions of employment and professional development.

Abilities

  • Manage a team and fluctuating caseload
  • Provide ongoing support and advice in both official languages (an essential criterion), to a growing clientele base, in Canada and abroad, using a riskassessment model
  • Be able to handle a large and varied volume of cases
  • Conduct outreach to membership and the federal public service executive community to provide feedback, resources for self care and to promote the Advisory Service for Executives service
  • Develop and share tools and materials to support executive wellbeing
  • Demonstrate personal resilience in hearing complex and difficult stories
  • Be compassionate, yet realistic, in providing advice
  • Have the utmost discretion
