Position Summary:


The Branch Experience Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination, facilitation, and support to ensure the smooth operations of the various Branch locations for the RHPL.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Supports the planning and forecasting of physical space requirements, including providing administrative and project support for the master planning process.
  • Contributes to the planning, budgeting, delivery and evaluation of library branch spaces, assets, enhancements and maintenance.
  • Coordinates and ensures appropriate services are in place for physical spaces including facilitating security access, building issues, building asset issues connecting with partners (maintenance, cleaners, etc.) to ensure reported issues are addressed.
  • Is responsible for the asset management activities associated with the Library, specific to noncollection content.
  • Performs research specific to options available for the enhancement or modification of physical spaces to support continuous improvement and the development of physical spaces.
  • Acts as a project coordinator for various physical enhancement and/or modification projects, keeping the Manager informed of variances with respect to budget, timelines, or activities being completed by contractors or city partners.
  • Is responsible for implementation of contracts associated with the portfolio including administrative aspects and reporting.
  • Coordinates the procurement process for any projects associated with the physical space of RHPL.
  • Completes all required forms, documents and records that are required, in alignment with records management and records retention policies and procedures.
  • May work on project teams, gathering information, completing research, and investigating various options in support of the project and its successful implementation.

  • When requested participates in relevant initiatives in RHPL's strategic roadmap.
  • Act as a collaborative and active member of the RHPL team
  • Build productive and collaborative working relationships within and outside the organization.
  • Acts as a backup to the Manager, Branch Experience in their absence.
  • Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:


  • College diploma in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant experience, ideally in a public library or library setting
