D U T I E S
Reporting to the Chair, Diagnostic Imaging, the Instructor will plan, coordinate, and teach the
clinical component of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Cardiac Programs in accordance
with the competency profile for Sonography Canada


Duties include:
conducting orientation to
clinical terms, scheduling clinical rotation of students, monitoring and assessing student progress
in their clinical terms, liaising with clinical sights, liaising with Sonography Canada and other
related responsibilities. The role also requires participating in the delivery of labs and teaching as
needed.

  • R E Q U I R E D Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
  • General Diploma in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited training program
  • Active registration with Sonography Canada
  • Several years of extensive and current clinical experience as a sonographer
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate

- positive outcomes
  • Effective presentation skills with ability to present material to diverse groups with the use of

- appropriate technology
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to teach on campus and remotely
  • Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and
continuous improvement

  • Bachelor Degree in Science
  • Experience or education in adult education
  • C O N D I T I O N S O F E M P L O Y M E N T
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
  • Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education
- program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
  • This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer
months
