Description
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the hotel and restaurant are kept properly stocked with clean laundry items.
- **Major Duties and Responsibilities*- Sorts linens for washer.
- Destain badly soiled linens.
- Operates washers and dryers properly.
- Folds all linens to hotel standards.
- Takes care of banquet and kitchen laundry.
- Washes bedspreads, bed pads, and blankets per instructions.
- Keeps laundry area neat and clean.
- Checks daily for all banquet and restaurant linen needs.
- Handles all laundry chemical products properly and advises the Housekeeping Manager or General Manager of inventory levels.
- Assists Housekeepers in other areas when laundry is slow or work is caught up.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and guests visiting the workplace.
Mental Effort
- Mental effort is required in multitasking and handling interruptions that require refocusing.
- Listening and mental attentiveness in tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Physical Effort
***Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
Working Conditions
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications.
Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the Housekeeping Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
