    Description

    Main Functions

    We are currently looking for a flexible Safety Manager to oversee plant safety at our 5 sites in North America.

    Rhinelander WI, Hutchinson MN, Tara OM, Cornwall ON, and Trenton ON

    The Safety Manager ir responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations within the workplace. He or She will play a critical role in creating a environment for employees and minimizing occupational risks. As the Safety Manager, you'll develop and implement safety plans, enforce policies, and evaluate practices to maintain leagl compliance. Assisting the sites to achieve business goals and objectives in a safe manner.

    Responsabilities:

  • Develope and Execute Safety Plans: Create and implement health and safety plans according to legal guidelines.Continuously monitor and adapt safety procedures to ensure compliance.Assess risks and hazards, aiming to minimize them.
  • Policy Enforcement and Training: Perpare and enforce safety policies to establish a culture of health and safetyConduct safety training sessions for employees on procedures and regulations.Communicate guidelines effectively to a multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety guidelines.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with guidelines.
  • Accident Investigation and Improvement: Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies.Provide recommendations for improvement based on findings.Work towards creating a safer work environment.
  • Technical skills

    Required

  • Knowledge of both OSHA (US plants) and OHSA (CA plants)
  • Relevant Certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technician)
  • Proven experience in safety management
  • Strong attention to detail and hazard identification skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Personal abilities

    Required

  • Must be able perform pre-project safety reviews, ensuring a safe installation and operation after install.
  • Must be a Team player.
  • Needs to be a forward thinker and problem solver.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
