Bilingual Donor Relations Associate

Job Summary


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: asking for one-time and monthly donations, achieving targets related to gift campaigns, responding to inquiries from donors and future donors, updating donor records in our database, and fulfilling administrative tasks related to the Alzheimer Society of Canada's Fund Development programs.

These tasks may include acknowledgements, preparing correspondence, processing donations, data entry, and completing outbound telephone calls.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Donor Service (English/French):


  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support to all donors (including monthly) and stakeholders
  • Process donations and respond to donor requests ensuring all donors are thanked, receipted, and tracked in the CRM system
  • Proactively reach out to all donors as part of specific campaign initiatives
  • Leverage understanding built in training about ASC programs and services to deliver compelling reasons to support to donors and potential donors
  • Attempt to retain donors seeking to cancel their support, using approved tactics and strategy
  • Listen for opportunities to deepen the relationship between donors and ASC
  • Receive and address requests from provincial and local chapters regarding donor requests (donations, tax receipts, modification and cancellation of mailings, prospect mailing inquiries, etc.) and handle donor complaints, within scope of authority, including explaining, clarifying and exchanging information;
  • Maintains donor confidentiality and ensures compliance with related policies
  • Assist in other duties and special projects as required in furthering the goals of Philanthropy and Direct Marketing team

Administrative Support to Fund Development:


  • Track constituent moves through the stages of fundraising, understand what actions are to be taken with key prospects, and prompt relationship managers to complete actions
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of donor records in Raisers Edge by conducting regular quality checks (daily, weekly, monthly or as needed) through validation queries and/or routine maintenance checks and update records as needed
  • Issue duplicate tax receipts and process cancellations as required
  • Acknowledge donations and pledges by outbound calls, written correspondence or other means as required
  • In person cheque processing as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

Education:


  • Postsecondary education in fundraising, business or related field
  • Combination of skills, experience and education will also be considered

Experience:


  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the areas of fundraising, donor relations, stewardship, recognition, and annual giving
  • 23 years of experience in donor relations or customer service using CRM systems
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong organizational, administration, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong donor/customer focus and problem resolution driven
  • High standards of integrity, judgement, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships of trust and confidentiality
  • Flexible, selfmotivated, meets deadlines
  • Call centre experience considered an asset

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:

  • Written, verbal and comprehension fluency in English & French
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication skills, client service and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs
  • Experience working in MS Office, SalesForce, Luminate Online, or other online fundraising software an asset
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Demonstrated orientation to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and act with the utmost discretion
  • Desire to ask for the donation that sustains our mission
