The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a
Supervisor, Production to join our team at Garson Mine in
Sudbury, Ontario . This is a temporary position for the duration of 12 months.


As a Supervisor, Production you will be accountable for continuously improving the work team (crew) performance through the effective use of established processes and procedures at various plants or mines within the Sudbury area.


In this position you will:

  • Work a schedule of 5/4 rotating days and nights.
  • Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Supervise the execution of planned work in and around the shaft as well as support the process.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreedupon timeline and end state.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards to execute Safety and Execution Plans as established by the Superintendent or his/her designate.
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team.
  • Work collectively with peers and crossfunctionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine.
**About You


Education:


  • Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is preferred.
  • Common Core: First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Common Core or Common Core for First Line Production Supervisor Underground Hard Rock Mining is required.

Experience:


  • Production and Development (trackless) experience is an asset.

Skills:


  • Ability to follow Vale's Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
