Job Summary

What is the opportunity?


In this role you will provide support to the Canadian Banking Marketing Team to design and build effective and efficient direct marketing campaigns and initiatives.

You will be responsible for the business and technical design specification of marketing campaigns and initiatives to maximize revenue growth and provide superior customer experience through relevant and timely offers.

This is a business support, highly technical role requiring hands-on experience with data and decisioning tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Spark SQL, Teradata / Hadoop) and expertise in Data-enabled Customer Relationship Management.


What will you do?

  • Provide complete, accurate and timely Campaign Design and Execute that meets the business objectives. Interact with senior business leadership to understand, champion, challenge and specify business, design and technical requirement for marketing tactics
  • Responsible for translating technical specification into code for the timely deployment of Direct Marketing tactics through a variety of channels
  • Evolve and optimize campaign experimental design and build to ensure alignment to business and marketing objectives by providing target audience and precampaign sizing analysis
  • Act as COE on direct marketing tactics and provide clear recommendations and requirements to internal partners
  • Responsible for the timely development of campaign structure keeping in mind the business strategy, objectives and postcampaign reporting requirements
  • Perform quality assurance audits to ensure the campaign design has been accurately interpreted in the campaign build to meet the business need
  • Follows all Data Stewardship and Governance policies and processes that align to and support Canadian Banking business strategies and priorities
  • Ensure corporate reputation is maintained by strict adherence to privacy guidelines and ethics, data stewardship and governance policies and processes
  • Highly skilled at data mining
  • Responsible for development of complex campaigns and documentation, integrating and leveraging learnings from past and post campaign results
  • Demonstrate leadership in process improvement
  • Identifies and implements new methods or processes to shorten the Marketing cycle or to reduce costs
  • Ensure that all CRM concepts (including predictive models) and CIDM standard methodology and best practices are implemented in day to day routines by self and team
  • Act as Peer coach and shares best practice with team
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on relevant Data sources, Channels, and CIDM standards
  • Train and mentor new team members, as needed
  • Represents Director CIDM in leading strategies for Design and Execution, as needed

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:


  • Minimum 45 years specialty expertise relational database marketing and structured programming concepts, including the use of data analytic and decisioning tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Spark SQL, Teradata, Hadoop etc.)
  • Strong Analytical mindset with solid ability to build strong lateral relationships through influence
  • Strong project management and implementation skills time management
  • Strong problem resolution and decisionmaking skills
  • Strong written/oral communication skills to develop and convey thoughtful and insightful explanations
  • Ability to work steadily and accurately under pressure, especially during peak periods
  • Attention to detail and time management is critical.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Facilitation Skills / Coaching Skill
