The Opportunity


KPMG Law LLP's Tax Law section assists companies and individuals with estate and wealth planning and corporate reorganizations and restructurings.

KPMG Law is involved in each stage of tax driven corporate reorganization work - from planning to implementation.

We are looking for a Paralegal with experience managing teams and projects to join us. As a member of our team, you are actively involved in all stages of files. You will lead and assist with engagements and support various operational and practice management initiatives related to support staff.

You will work closely with all members of our team, including partners, associates, paralegals, and administrative support to help our clients through the corporate reorganization process.

Your organizational skills, initiative, and strong work ethic will allow you to coordinate and meet the deadlines of multiple files.


What you will do:

  • File/project management, including initiating/leading meetings, identifying and executing next steps, drafting documents, tracking and initiating follow up, maintenance and organization of file (electronic and hard copy)
  • Update and maintain internal databases
  • Draft and organize corporate documents (e.g. minutes, resolutions, agreements) and file documents with government agencies (e.g. Corporate Registry)
  • Prepare various charts, timelines, and other materials
  • Calculate and manage deadlines
  • Assisting with internal operational tasks, workflows, and guidelines
  • Other duties, as required

What you bring to this role:

  • Paralegal degree/diploma, law clerk diploma or other credentials with relevant paralegal/law clerk experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in corporate or tax law
  • Management experience, including supervising and overseeing junior employees, leading files, and managing results
  • Comfortable managing junior and senior level employees and Partners to ensure projects and deadlines are on track
  • Ability to think strategically and confident using proper judgment to make sound decisions
  • Proficient in standard office software such as MS Word, Outlook, and Adobe
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to effectively manage conflicting requirements and priorities
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to handle privileged and confidential information with sensitivity and discretion
  • Selfmotivated to achieve high standards in all aspects of work
  • Client service oriented and professional
  • CORES Level III or a willingness to obtain certification in CORES Level III
  • Knowledge of dispute resolution and familiarity with litigation is an asset
