QUALIFICATIONS

Fulltime postsecondary student, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall
Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health
Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
Demonstrated problem solving and decisionmaking skills
Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
Demonstrated communication skills
Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, clients and within interdisciplinary team

***: Under the supervision of the Manager, Respiratory Services, the Summer Student works on projects assigned by the Respiratory Services management team within Prairie Mountain Health. The Summer Student functions as an integral part of the health care system and is committed to the Vision, Mission, Values and strategic priorities of Prairie Mountain Health.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in planning and coordinating projects within the Respiratory Services department and under the direction of Respiratory Services Management. Projects may include program evaluation and planning.
Develop patient education materials as requested.
Data collection, analysis and interpretation for the Respiratory department.
Research activities including literature searches and information gathering.
Preparation and delivery of education to Respiratory Services staff.
Other duties as assigned.
