_This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA)._


In accordance with the Temporary Librarian, Administrative and Professional Staff (TLAPO) Agreement, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package found on our Benefits Overview page and annual salary range of $67,731 to $112,811.

This position has an initial appointment of 24 months.


Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Position


Duties encompass the completion of necessary documentation according to the Ministry of Advanced Education's standards, University Calendar-related documentation, the drafting of persuasive proposals, and the preparation of well-substantiated program budgets for approval.

In addition, the Officer supports Academic Directors and the Associate Dean in stakeholder engagement within both the university and the business industry.


Developing new graduate programs and specialized certificate courses that align with the evolving and inventive market needs for diverse skills is essential for upholding the Alberta School of Business's position among the premier business schools in Canada.


Duties

  • Collaborates with Academic Directors, the Provost's Office, and Department Chairs to ensure timely implementation of new programs as well as modifications to current offerings.
  • Facilitates discussions and negotiations to foster successful implementation of portfolio initiatives.
  • Participates in area meetings to gather information and to provide information on proposed and ongoing initiatives.
  • Conducts thorough comparisons and assessments of similar programs throughout Canada and North America.
  • Evaluates job market and professional trend data on various scales to validate the demand for each proposed new program.
  • Collaborates with university governance bodies to creatively address and navigate through potential challenges, while consistently upholding university standards and policies.
  • Maintains an inclusive approach that values diverse input, encouraging the introduction of novel viewpoints.
