EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education;
  • Or combination of additional training/experience with New Brunswick Early Learning and Care Curriculum Framework/English and Orientation to Early Childhood
Education (90 hours)


EXPERIENCE:

  • 35 years in the child care field;
  • Experience and solid understanding of provincial standards guiding child care centers; and
  • Experience with Non-Profit Organizations

SKILLS:

  • Must be flexible, creative, enthusiastic, and highly energetic;
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal and written);
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Google Products and QuickBooks
  • Team work skills;
  • Excellent organizational, record keeping, and financial administrative skills;
  • Sensitivity and tact in dealing with people under stressful conditions;
  • Thorough understanding of early childhood and child development
  • Ability to meet deadlines while ensuring high standards of accuracy
  • Ability to complete a high volume of work within deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision and the ability to take initiative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience living and/or working in a military community an asset

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES - ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Provide hiring support
  • Provide support in staff training and orientation
  • Trained as backup with WSP and Portal
  • Support licensing and designation processes
  • Provide inclusion support
  • Manage parent concerns and questions
  • Written correspondence with families
  • Support in finalizing Summer Student Applications
  • Update the Parent Manual, as required
  • Participate as part of the rotational schedule of EFCA administration/Emergency Phone
  • Trained in Penelope Software (EFCA)
  • All other duties, as requested
  • Managing 30/60/90 hour
  • Manage childcare waitlist
  • Maintain staff files
  • Maintain child portfolios/files
  • Ensure checklists for children/families/staff are complete, accurate and well
- maintained

  • All other administrative duties, as requested
RESPONSIBILITIES - EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR

  • Able to provide flexible staffing support
  • Able to assist in the provision of child care at the Early Learning and Care Centre operated by the New Brunswick MFRC
  • Ability to supervise and interact with children between the ages of 3 months to 12 years of age
  • Must be creative, enthusiastic, motivated, professional and organized
  • Teamwork skills essential
