a strong work ethic and be able to work seamlessly with others in the superintendent's and building professional capacity departments, as part of a collaborative teamthe ability to be self-directed and work on multiple tasks independently using initiative, sound judgment and diplomacy is required
excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to successfully work with members of the public in order to assist in resolution of issues
the ability to work under timeline pressures are key success attributes for the position
strong organization skills are crucial, multi-tasker, and a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage schedules, meetings and calendars is critical
other skills and attributes include extensive computer expertise, a demonstrated high level of motivation and pride in work, as well as the ability to be proactive, use initiative, work independently, and function as part of a team.
Tasks will include:
providing information to and assisting a variety of stakeholders, including parents and district staff
supporting an assistant superintendent, director of instruction and two helping teachers in the work of Building Professional Capacity
handling correspondence
managing multiple budgets
maintaining files, records and reports, and event planning
This full-time position is based at the District Education Centre (DEC) and not at a school and is excluded from the union.
