Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Manager of Nutrition & Food Services and the Food Service Supervisor, the Utility Worker performs basic, routine duties related to the assembly and service of food for patients and cafeteria clientele.


Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering patient menus, trays and nourishments
  • Communicating with supervisory staff and Dietitians regarding patient food preferences/intolerances/menu issues
  • Operating and cleaning dishwasher, food slicer and other equipment as required within the department
  • Washing dishes, and pots, pans as required
  • Stocking pantry areas on nursing units with nourishments
  • Performing extra cleaning within the department, stocks and cleans storeroom, refrigerators and other areas
  • Portioning some menu items
  • Performing other duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 required (Employees hired prior to September 2004 exempt)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, walking standing)
  • Serv Safe Basic course, or willing to take upon hire
  • Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

Permanent Part-time (75%) Position; 56.25 Hours Bi-Weekly


Salary Information:

$ $19.92 Hourly
