About the Role
The Director of Corporate Partnerships creates transformational and mutually beneficial relationships with a wide range of corporate partners to bring value to Food Banks Canada and the food bank network across the country.
The Director of Corporate Partnerships leads a team to drive the tactical implementation of fundraising and food partnership strategies and deliver revenue, food, and in-kind partnerships.
This role takes an "all hands on deck" approach when needed to build a robust donor engagement and partnership strategy from identification through to stewardship.
What You Will Be Doing
- In collaboration with the VP, Partnerships, establish department goals, targets, implementation plans and tracking for the corporate giving team to achieve annual targets for fundraising and food partnerships
- Working closely with the Stewardship Manager, ensure Food Banks Canada's offering remains competitive and valuable to the corporate audience and that timely and appropriate recognition and benefits are provided to qualifying partners
- In cooperation with the VP, Partnerships, develop team strategies for corporate partner revenue or food generation, engagement, and retention and lead the implementation of all team strategies
- In partnership with the Director of Food Acquisition, source dedicated food donation partnerships and grow donor base for specially produced high value foods
- Collaborate with Director of Philanthropy and the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships to ensure maximum revenue and implementation of fundraising best practices across the entire development portfolio
- Provide leadership to direct reports, coaching on best practices in corporate partnerships including strategic portfolio management and recognition, partnership alignment, shared value and cultivating a culture of philanthropy
- Personally manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners and conduct cultivation visits and stewardship activities that set an example for the team
What You Will Need
- Completion of an undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years' relevant experience, including developing and implementing strategies and plans resulting in increased revenue
- Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and motivating a professional, crossfunctional team to achieve common goals and objectives
- Experience working with corporations, with cause marketing, sponsorship, corporate giving, and brand activation opportunities
- Exceptional skills in networking, presenting, and pitching, with demonstrated capacity to manage prospects through the full cultivation cycle to a successful close
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders
Working Conditions
- Fulltime, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. This position is remote and must be located within 100km of the Greater Toronto Area
- Occasional travel within Canada may be required
