Overview:
Effective management of Product Quality Control and Quality Processes to ensure product performance, product cost management, effective reserve utilization and customer satisfaction
Responsibilities:
Safety:
- Implementation of Lafarge Safety Policies, and compliance with Government Legislation.
- Lead the implementation of Job Hazard Analyses for QC tasks, develop and lead the implementation of hazard reduction plans.
- Execution and implementation of Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans. Coordinate relevant safety training for all technicians supervised.
- Ensure that training for QC technicians is up to date and records of training is documented.
- Ensure that safety incident, near misses, and unsafe practices observed by RMX QC technicians are reported and uploaded to LafargeHolcim iCare.
- Act as a leader in H&S, with a specific focus on field safety talks.
- Identify gaps and support the development of improvement action plans
Concrete Mix Management and Performance:
- Development, management and optimization of LafargeHolcim Standard and VAP Mix Designs for Central and NCR, including special and value added products, in compliance with relevant codes, standards and specifications.
- Work with plant operations to ensure accurate batching and quality using tools such as batch accuracy reports, standard deviation and coefficient of variation.
- Establish, monitor and communicate RMX KPI performance with key stakeholders as required.
- Investigate variances from targets and establish corrective actions as required.
- Manage and lead quality incident Investigation process, troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Implement a casestudies database.
- Keep Quality Incident Record (QIR) database updated.
- Work with Regional Technical Performance team to review of all project specifications for Central and NCR.
- Recommendation of appropriate mix designs and proposal of VAP alternatives in support of marketing/sales initiatives, and in compliance with relevant codes, standards and specifications.
- Work with Regional Technical Performance team for preparation and submission of Mix Design Documentation requested by Customers in Accordance with Lafarge Policy.
- Work with Regional Technical Performance team for mixes uploads to Quadrel and SAP, including the Required GL and sales category codes for pricing, Production/Shipping and BI/KPI reporting.
- Follow up and ensure that targets for test sampling frequency are met and quality results is uploaded to Quadrel.
Quality management & certifications:
- Lead Quality Audits, including the development and implementation of action plans for quality improvement.
- Lead plants certifications preparation and audits for RMX plants.
- Support the preparation and submission of LEED documentation.
- Prepare statistical analyses of plant operation performance, and lead investigative efforts to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support Regional Technical Performance teams, Production/Shipping and KPI Reporting.
Technical Support:
- Perform quality audits, develop action plans for quality improvement and monitor progress of implementation.
- Prepare statistical analyses of Plant Operation Performance, and lead investigative efforts to identify Root Causes and implement corrective actions.
- Provide expert customer support field sales support and Quality Incident Investigation and Resolution.
- Develop, standardize and implement quality plans and processes.
- Promote Lafarge VAP products to the specifying community in partnership with the VAP rep.
- Identify VAP opportunities, potential innovation and product improvement for customers and job sites.
- Support development of operation plan, operational practices and review
Management/Leadership:
- Hire, train, evaluate and develop Quality Control Technicians.
- Coach and mentor direct reports in accordance with Lafarge Performance Evaluation system.
- Manage daily activities of technical staff (4 Quality Technicians)
- Monitoring of raw materials and consistency, strategic sampling plans, plant and site based testing activities, product support, product troubleshooting
Financial Accountability:
- Manage local lab budgets and financial reviews as required.
- Minimize potential cost of quality claims.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources provided, and optimize costs where practical and possible
