Description
Ampere Metal Finishing program has an open position for Production / Quality / Lab technician position. This position requires advanced level computer knowledge to operate data base. Microsoft Word, Excel, power point and outlook. The lab technician works very closely with production.

Job Purpose

The Production / Quality / Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing designated quality inspections of product during the production process.

This responsibility also includes evaluating inspection results, determining the appropriate inspection status of the inspected product and documenting inspection results.

The quality / lab technician also performs lab work and multiple types of tests. Chemical titration is one of them.

The QA lab tech will also run two production lines, one for passivation and one for manganese phosphate, when jobs are available for these two lines.


Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector include:

  • Perform designated quality inspections and testing as required.
  • Advanced level computer knowledge to operate data base. Word, Excel, power point and outlook.
  • Assess inspection and test results and disposition accordingly.
  • Ensure that all production and inspection data has been properly documented on the appropriate forms.
  • Monitor, Analyze and Maintain operating parameters on plating baths and record results.
  • Ensure all lab chemicals are current and perform monthly chemical inventory.
  • Clean and maintain all lab equipment.
  • Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated. Report any expired calibrations to Quality Supervisor.
  • Notify Quality Supervisor of nonconformance issues.
  • Run the production line for passivation and Manganese phosphate when jobs are available
  • Issue work orders
  • Replace receiver to receive products when required
  • Follow all safety rules when handling chemicals and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • May be required to perform other job functions as required

Qualifications

  • Two year college chemistry preferred, high school diploma minimum requirement
  • Physically fit to work at production line
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Aptitude for learning and understanding basic chemistry.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Working Conditions

  • Some heavy lifting is required.
  • Must be able to function in a highpressure production environment.
  • Must be able to work with a variety of chemicals.
  • Job Types: Fulltime, Permanent
  • Salary: $18.00$21.00 per hour
