    Position Overview

    Under the general direction of the Charge Technologist, Radiology, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the PORTER, DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING is responsible for: transporting and assisting patients; attending to the needs of patients; documenting appropriate information; wiping down equipment and ensuring same is in adequate working order; ensuring rooms are properly stocked with linen; ensuring the adequate supply of oxygen tanks and changing them as required; and performing other related duties as assigned.

    Experience

  • Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital or recognized equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or other direct patient care position.
  • Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12, or recognized equivalent.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
