ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Architectural Project Manager, you will:

  • Award, manage and administer all consultant engagements
  • Lead consultant teams and other resources through the entire design process
  • Proactively manage all aspects of the design documents process, bringing the programming, design, consultant coordination, code compliance, schedule, budgets, value engineering, and overall quality of project documents to full completion
  • Manage big picture goals and objectives, while simultaneously entrenched in the details
  • Organize and influence key Ownership decisions during the design process
  • Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project across all design disciplines within a fasttrack design and construction environment
  • Communicate effectively with Ownership, Consultants, and Construction teams
  • Competently manage time, priorities, and check lists for multiple projects
  • Be aware of and effectively use current and new design and project management technology
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive library of project analytics, procedures, design standards and guidance practices that includes value engineering, constructability reviews, new product research, costbenefit analysis, and lifecycle cost considerations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or a University Degree in Architecture, current standing with OAA ideal, Project Management (PMP) designation or similar training desired
  • Previous experience working on midrise and highrise residential projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards
  • Ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness
  • Experience overseeing development of building documentation in modeling/drafting software (Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Site experience is an asset but not a necessity
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous supervisory and project management experience across multiple projects
  • Excellent planning, organizational, communication, time management and multitasking skills
  • Able to provide direction and leadership effectively and positively
