Shelter Movers is seeking a Volunteer Services Manager to lead a team of volunteers to develop and execute the Volunteer Services Strategy.

Reporting directly to the local Chapter Director, this pivotal role involves supporting the execution of the strategic plan among volunteer functions, refining policies and procedures, and overseeing project management initiatives.

What you'll be responsible for:


  • Supporting the Chapter Director and National Volunteer Services Director in executing Shelter Movers' strategic plan, as it relates to Volunteer Services
  • Select, train and manage a team of volunteers and/or volunteers
  • Grounding recommendations and decisions in evidence, using key performance indicators to understand volunteer behaviour
  • Attending recruitment and engagement events in person in Montreal
  • Creating and providing reports and analysis where necessary to demonstrate the effectiveness of current policies and procedures
  • Identifying, developing and testing process and policy improvements to enhance volunteers' experience at Shelter Movers
  • Actively contributing to national Volunteer Services team meetings and with ideas and feedback on national initiatives and procedural changes
  • Managing ongoing and temporary projects (e.g., student placement programs) as needed
  • Updating and refining volunteer orientation presentations and facilitating when needed
  • Assisting other chapterlevel functions when necessary
