We are looking for a
Box Truck Operator or
Autonomous Vehicle Operator (as we call it) to work
onsite in
Toronto, ON for a company who is leading the way in autonomous middle-mile delivery by developing a safe, efficient, autonomous delivery solution that addresses real pain points for the retail industry.

• Help test and improve the performance of the company's driverless 26footlong trucks in running routes to transport dry and refrigerated cargo, obtain data, and fix technical issues.
• Provide necessary feedback to engineering teams aimed at improving groundbreaking automated driving technology while meeting customer's product delivery needs
• Safely operate autonomous vehicles for ontime in route customer deliveries:
• Ensure operation of class 3-6 (less than 26,001 lb GVWR, with or without air brakes) delivery vehicles, in both autonomous and manual modes, always keeping other drivers, the public, other members of the operating team, and the vehicle safe.
• Manually drive the vehicles before moving toward autonomous operations.
• Act as an ambassador for the company, their technology and staff, and the clients.
• Ensure vehicles arrive at pickup and dropoff locations on time and that the integrity of goods is retained on each journey.
• Load and unload vehicles using pallet jacks (training provided).

• Must hold a valid commercial driver's license (DZ, CZ, BZ, or AZ)
• Must have driven commercially for 3+ years (either 3+ years in Toronto, or 1+ years Toronto with the remainder being North America)
• Must be familiar with the Greater Toronto Area
• Must have 3+ years of box truck driving experience, including the ability to operate straight trucks with up to 26' long bodies (boxes) and up to and above 35' total vehicle length is preferred
• Clean background check, drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record check
• Customer relationship management experience
• Must be willing to work flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends
• Basic mechanical skills
• Previous relevant experience is a plus (e.g. auto, technology, engineering, technician, etc.)
• Must have experience loading and unloading, and preferably using pallet jacks and/or dollies

• This is a fulltime contract position
• Note that 40 hours per week may be possible, but we cannot guarantee more than 36 hours per week.
• Compensation is hourly and paid training is provided.
