We're looking for our next Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP but the offer will read Human Resources Manager II due to internal coding) to round out our dynamic team.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role is responsible for implementing HR strategies to ensure the workforce is motivated, results-driven and highly competent in their fields.
The HRBP supports the implementation of strategic initiatives and assists in the development of tactical initiatives to accommodate corporate and market strategic goals and objectives, as coordinated with Corporate Shared Services.
We are looking for an HR champion committed to improving employee productivity and engagement and who understands the impact of HR in influencing business results.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages employee relations activities to ensure timely investigation and resolution. Evaluate recurrence or trends across market regions and implement actions to mitigate them in the future through appropriate training, coaching, and discipline as required.
- Manage the employee development process, including assisting with the identification of future leaders, coaching and mentoring programs as appropriate, and the facilitation of formal programs and job rotational assignments, with an emphasis on Supervisory skills development.
- Provide guidance regarding Employment Law Compliance and risk reduction and seek legal counsel when necessary.
- Support management on all employee matters, including change management initiatives, the recruiting and hiring process, disability management, DEI initiatives, coaching and development, disciplinary action, terminations, compensation matters, turnover management, and the implementation and delivery of training programs, including training content.
- Ensure that policies are in place (and updated when necessary) to ensure a safe working environment. Write or edit ad hoc company policies and collaborate with senior leadership to develop policies.
- Works with leadership to support Health and Safety Compliance including Injury/Incident reporting, WCB/WSIB compliance and helping to educate and inform employees on safety topics and initiatives.
- Conduct employee exit interviews and report results to leadership and suggestions for improvement based on trends.
- Negotiate and partner with unions to ensure win/win outcomes, developing positive union relationships.
- Lead or participate in defining the HR communication plan designed to influence or change behaviour positively; develop tailored messaging and posts; and identify appropriate distribution channels.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Seven (7) years experience in an HR Generalist function and three+ (3) years in a senior HR role.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CPHR) designation is considered an asset.

- Ability to convey complex and challenging information to managers and work with management at the senior level.
- Pragmatic problemsolving skills with a high standard of attention to detail.
- Articulate communicator and ability to interpret and explain written and statistical data to a wide range of audiences.
- Knowledge of HRIS software systems and proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage time and effectively prioritize work in a remote setting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The role has standard working conditions in a hybrid office environment with a regular work week from Monday to Friday.
Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.
