We have three
Salt Processing Operator positions available for immediate hire.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to start the line up or shut the line down properly.
• Performs regular hourly cleaning and inspections of the salt processing line machines, conveyors, conveyor belts, bearings, dryer and dust collector, etc.
• Fill in all necessary check lists for all cleaning and inspections.
• Monitor for leaks, conveyor belt tears, retractions or stretching and changes to sounds of machinery running while cleaning and inspecting.
• Act upon and report any breakdowns, issues or off spec salt to Management.
• Check quality of salt being processed, collect samples and fill in necessary paperwork.
• All forms, checklists and samples must be stored in the designated area at the end of each shift for collection by Management.
• Follow all Health and Safety requirements to perform the job duties.
• Performs other duties as required.

Preferred Skills, Abilities and Experience:

• Attendance and punctuality are priority with flexibility to work extra hours outside of the normal schedule when required.
• Must have a positive attitude and good work ethic with good communication skills.
• Experience with conveyors and being mechanically inclined would be an asset.
• Ability to function individually as well as in a team environment with limited supervision.

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Industrial Lift Truck, Loader Operator, Mobile Elevating Work Platform and Working at Heights certifications or experience is an asset.
• WHMIS and 5 Steps
• Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness training will be provided if not trained previously.

Typical work week consists of a four-day work week (Monday to Thursday) with an 8-hour shift with three 12-hour shifts.

Three-day weekends

Company provides all necessary PPE and offers various clothing and safety boot allowances.


Salary:
$17.00-$18.00 per hour
