Part Time Communications team


Job purpose


The Content Coordinator works with a team of professional staff that support the student leadership and goals of the organization.

The Content Coordinator is responsible for the creation of communications collateral and copy, The Content Coordinator participates in the implementation of communications strategies to support the CCSAI's programs and services and acts as the primary content creation resource for the organization.


This position requires the incumbent to work effectively, and to foster cooperative relationships, with student leaders as part of a student focused organization.


Hours of work:
Generally, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with some evening and weekend work. Work may be completed in a hybrid model of in-person and online. Weekend and evening availability will be required from time to time.


Duties and responsibilities
General Duties

  • Editing various types of content including photo and video in a fastpaced environment.
  • Conduct research and track trends to create uptodate and engaging content for all digital media platforms.
  • Lead in the ideation and execution of unique content marketing strategies to promote the service and programs of the CCSAI.
  • Collaborate and oversee a team of student content creators (photographers, videographers, designers, etc.) with the support of the Manger, Marketing & Communications.
  • Shoot and edit quality photo and video content for the CCSAI Communications & Events Teams.
  • Archive and maintain organized shared digital assets regularly.
  • Operate various photo and video equipment and ensure that all equipment is looked after and stored away correctly.
  • Maintain and update equipment inventory.
  • Prepare scripts, slides, documents, casting and other relevant items to prepare and capture content
  • Support the maintenance and upkeep of web blogs, and general content.
Content Creators

  • Provide leadership and guidance to parttime student content creators to brainstorm, outline, develop and distribute content.
  • Support the CCSAI Engagement Staff through recruitment, onboarding, hiring, scheduling and delegation of tasks ensuring the team has the resources and information needed to successfully promote the CCSAI
  • Review and approve all content before publishing
Other Duties

  • Assists with the administration of the CCSAI office by way of answering student questions and assisting students
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with the Student Services and Engagement team to meet the goals of the organization
  • Support the CCSAI Engagement programs including events, club, governance or advocacy related programs.
  • Fully conversant with, and fully adheres to, the bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the CCSAI
  • Attends staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Communications and Marketing and/or the Director(s)

Qualifications

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Solid knowledge of communication and design principles, best practices and industry standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Social Media Platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with photography and videography equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience using Agorapulse and Teamwork is an asset.
  • Uptodate on changing content creation related programs and technologies.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A creative thinker who is action oriented and results driven.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to stay abreast of current technologies and innovations in relation to digital media.
  • Ability to work independently and to perform effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to consistently exercise good judgement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Flexible to travel to all campus location.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Broadcasting, Photography, Digital Communication, Videography or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in digital communications, marketing, social media management, or related experience.
