- Prepare time estimates of machining and fabrication operations.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers of raw materials and outside services.
- Prepare customer quotations based on compiled estimates.
- Conduct time studies
- Work with senior estimating staff to establish universal costs and labour rates.
- Make recommendations on manufacturing options based on cost, engineering, quality or availability of materials.
- Provide assistance in resolving customer conflicts and concerns.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years experience estimating in a fabrication environment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting drawings, BOMs and model files.
- Experience with fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly and finishing an asset.
- Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in fabricating or estimating.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, Excel and Outlook.
- Previous aerospace experience preferred.
- Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.
