    Job Description

Skyworks is seeking an RF Test/Design Engineer to assist with test and development of our WLAN products from design to prototype to production.

The successful candidate will work with the design team to test and tune prototype RF modules containing 2-7GHz power amplifiers, switches, LNA's and filters and will assist in design related activities such as module level electromagnetic simulations and RF design.

This is a hands-on job, using microwave lab equipment in creative ways to debug and optimize wireless RF front-end modules.

The successful candidate will use his/her understanding of RF design techniques, RF measurements, and RF packaging to support the critical link between design and production.

He/she will become the local expert in RF front-end module simulation, evaluation and debugging.

The candidate will also develop techniques to optimize testing of RF modules in an engineering environment, improving time to market and supporting local design verification testing.

Finally, the candidate will be responsible for the selection of lab equipment, providing key inputs into annual capital expenditures.

    Requirements :

    • BSEE & 2 years related experience.
    • Thorough understanding of RF test equipment and programming techniques including Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Signal Sources, Oscilloscopes and Power Supplies from various manufacturers.
    • Thorough understanding of electromagnetism. Experience with electromagnetic simulators such as Momentum or HFSS would be an asset.
    • Experience in assembling, analyzing, matching/tuning and debugging RF assemblies in small quantities.
    • Able to interpret RF measurements in order to determine if a part requires improvement.
    • An inquisitive and creative mind that can devise and execute experiments that help us understand and analyze the inner workings of our front-end modules.
    • Comfortable doing "hands-on" lab work in an environment with state-of-the-art RF lab equipment.
    • General knowledge of analog/RF semiconductors (at the transistor level) and board-level products.
    • Exposure to RF simulation and design tools such as Keysight's ADS or Cadence's SpectreRF would be considered an asset.
    • Willingness to work across test teams in multiple sites for common test solutions.
    • Ability to write scripts to automate data reporting.
    • Well organized with solid written and verbal communication skills.
