Description

BRP is seeking a Master Data Management (MDM) Team Lead to play an active role in leading the deployment of the data standards, data governance and management processes related Material Master, Customers, Vendors/Suppliers, Planning, Transactional data and Quality.

The MDM team lead is responsible to support and enable the Data Stewards in standardizing the Master data design within MDM scope based on input from the business sectors (Business Process Lead and data stewards).

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading and supervising the MDM team focused on:

Deployment and on-going Master Data Governance program:

  • Holistic focus on Master Data and Transactional Data, including master data management (processes, reports, quality metrics and workflows), and interfaces.
  • Participate in the creation of data standards, drafting of data and governance policies and management of related documentation
  • Support and enforce established data standards and guidelines
  • Proactively monitor data accuracy and facilitate required data corrective actions with business owners
  • Provide support to data owners/data stewards in performing data validation and accuracy management
  • Develop and implement governance oversight and KPI metrics to successfully complete data governance objectives
  • Contribute to ideas and actions towards continuous improvement of processes within master data and data quality
  • Partner in troubleshooting and resolving master data transactions, SLA impacts, or other operational challenges affected by master data issues
  • Develop, document & maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Data Governance while promoting best practices
  • Facilitate and participate in both project and daytoday data cleansing activities
  • Maintain good communication with business partners regarding master data requests
  • Pursue all information required for the timely completion of work assignments


SAP S/4 Project (Master Data Design, Configuration and Management): Work in the collaboration with the Data Stewards to ensure data standards, business rules, work flows and supporting transactions are aligned with the MDM Standard Template.


Provide leadership and expertise to various stakeholders on BRP projects to proactively address cross-functional business needs through the development of highly innovative approaches and strategic and complex MDM and data governance interventions.


Provide coaching to the team, Data Stewardship and our main stakeholders in support of Data Governance initiatives by identifying training needs, providing support for any formal training required to maintain data quality and integrity, and mentoring on the understanding of BRP data.

Support management and operation of the Data Governance Office including the data stewardship organization and various committees and councils.


Project management & Implementation Readiness:


  • Own the tactical planning for the MDM deliverables.
  • Drive the timely deliverables of MDM team design deliverables.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Relevant post-secondary education in data, computing science, business, economics, operations research, engineering, statistics, data governance, or other technical disciplines

5+ years experience in the field of data management for an organization with complete and accurate master data, master data processes and metrics, including change management and the implementation of complex technology systems

2+ years experience in leading and managing a team in the field of data management and governance

Experience with Master Data Management in SAP and involvement on SAP implementation within a complex organizational environment is preferred

Experience developing operational documentation and SOP documents is preferred

Expertise in business processes within Supply Chain is preferred

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of Master data elements, processes, and organizational support models is preferred.

Understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies with other functions is preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office skills are required

Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects; Issue management experience

Strong ability to work in undiscovered, unstructured territories, gather business requirements and to formalize processes that are currently not formalized

Strong analytical skills and experience by working with Key Performance Indicators

Strong ability to manage different stakeholder perspectives and resistance to change

Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment and in a cross functional environment
