Position:

Housekeeper

Hours of work:

7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. & 3:00 P.M. - 11:00 P.M. & 11:00

P.M - 7:00 A.M, On-call basis

Effective Date:

Immediately

Core Function:

Reporting to the Director, Environment Services, the Housekeeper maintains a clean and healthy room environment for all residents, tenants and staff.

To provide personal housekeeping duties and personal laundry services to the residents. The ability to interact with families, residents, and other team members is essential.

Qualifications:

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English.
Two years Long-Term Care health care experience preferred
Knowledge of WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety standards, cleaning and sanitation products, and procedures and, the operation of mechanical housekeeping equipment.
Partial Secondary Education.
Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures
Ability to work independently and as a team player

Working Conditions

Walking, with possibility of some upstairs walking, as a major job function.
Standing, for lengths of time, up to 3 hours maximum, (12 hrs. usual) as a major job function.

Stretching/lifting on a regular basis throughout the shift as a major job function.
