Purpose and Scope of Job


Primarily responsible for directing and managing the facility's production operations with overall responsibilities for production, inventory, facility organization and appearance, safety and other production-related activities.


Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Provide management of facility operations including directing and managing all production operations to meet short-term and long-term goals.
  • Manage production functions and ensure that the customer satisfaction levels for products and service delivery are met or exceeded.
  • Develop strategies and makes decisions that use time and resources wisely, manage resources effectively (Lean).
  • Solve problems effectively and timely, set priorities and make decisions based on analysis, data, experience and judgment.
  • Direct, implement and maintain operational policies and procedures.
  • Accurately report critical and key performance indicator data.
  • Serve as first point of contact for building emergencies, communication to executive management, and management of vendor relations.
  • Assist in the development of the annual expense budget and maintain budget control and targets for the location.
  • Identify areas for positive process improvement actions(Kaizen).
  • Coordinate production activities through the planning with departments/staff to ensure the total facility objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Transform and continuously improve production and quality capabilities through the use of improved assembly and manufacturing techniques (Lean).
  • Develop and control annual CapEx budget. Manage capital asset maintenance.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Implement systems and direct and train staff to maintain facility cleanliness and appearance (5S).
  • Establish objectives and monitor overall performance for production and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives. Develop staff to perform their duties.
  • Develop, implement and maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, or minimum of five (5) years' experience in an Operations Supervisory position.
  • Five (5) years of industry experience required in the corporate environment.
  • Previous experience with developing or managing safety programs and maintaining regulatory standards.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Demonstrate financial ability to develop and manage capital budgets; create and implement savings initiatives across the area.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
