Summary:


Reporting to the Supervisor - Processing, as the Machine Shop Technician - Grinding, you will be responsible for general grinding on the afternoon shift.


Work Site Location:
Oakville, Ontario - Onsite


Work Shift:
Monday - Thursday (Afternoons 4pm - 2am)


Primary Responsibilities:


  • ID and OD grinding of large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components
  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
  • Communicate and coordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Use of Cranes to move parts
  • Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum qualifications include: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus recognized and accredited college /trade program or three or more years (3+) prior outside Machining experience
  • Do you have at least 3 years of cylindrical grinding experience of large components and six months to a year CNC experience?
  • Demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, including turning and milling, with an emphasis on grinding
  • Demonstrated ability to work to close tolerances and sound understanding of blueprint reading and all associated measuring equipment
  • Strong understanding of WHMIS
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a crossfunctional employee
