What You'll Be Doing


As part of the Financial Governance, HR Service Delivery team the Financial Analyst provides analytical and administrative support specific to financial payroll matters and payroll data that is administered through Alight Solutions, CIBC's service provider.


The Financial Analyst Co-Op will exercise independent judgment and be responsible for the analysis, insight and interpretation of payroll financial matters.

In addition, this role also assumes accountability carrying out various administrative, tracking and reporting activities related to financial matters in association with the Alight Solutions relationship.

Important Information

  • You must be currently enrolled in postsecondary education and returning to fulltime studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

How You'll Succeed

  • Provide coordination and administrative support to ensure successful delivery of payroll related financial activities: Work with Alight and Tax & Accounting team to create the monthly payroll GL file pick up calendar.
  • Support various initiatives and change requests to enhance the system to support new requirements.
  • Review and process invoices related to the Employee Transition Support Program (ETSP).
  • Point of contact for Accounts Payable activities between Alight Solutions and CIBC related to ETSP invoices.
  • Support the governance and control process for payroll related financial activities; Track, Validate, Monitor invoices
  • Monitor payroll GL suspense balance and work with Alight Solutions to clear the balance before month end close. Maintain / update process documents as required.
