Our
Lacombe Food Store
is looking for a part-time
Baker to join our team.


Part-time:24-36 hours/week. Benefit eligible after 3 months.

  • This position provides benefits, if you are coming from out of province please remember you need to have AB Health coverage to be covered by our plan provider._

Availability requirements:
Weekdays and weekends - early mornings (3:00 am start) and afternoons.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide excellent customer service,
  • Production of goods in a scratchtofinish bakery,
  • Finishing, wrapping, displaying, and rotating product,
  • Plan and schedule bakery production according to needs for adequate sales,
  • Maintain product quality standards and suggest new items to enhance product selection,
  • Place orders with approved suppliers for all ingredients and supplies according to production requirements,
  • Maintain temperature logs and ensure all food and equipment temperatures comply with food safety guidelines,
  • Assist in the organization, direction, and coordination of the Bakery to achieve budgeted goals,
  • In the absence of the Bakery Manager, supervise the production of baked products,
  • Assist in the supervision of staff in the general operation of the Bakery,
  • Order, receive, and stock freight orders,
  • Keep informed of Canadian Food Inspection Agency recalls and CAC's required response, and provide customers with current information,
  • Manage time efficiently to complete all special orders as promised,
  • Practice safe food handling practices and wear appropriate attire,
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, using proper sanitation procedures and housekeeping logs,
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:


  • Prior bakery knowledge,
  • Cake decorating experience,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment,
  • Ability to work independently and in a team,
  • Some heavy lifting is required (up to 50 lbs.),
  • Must be over the age of 14 (Employment Standards requires a permit to employ a person age 14 or under; therefore, disclosure is required).
