Your Contribution:
As an Environmental Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Environment team.


Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Assisting Project Managers, Engineers and Geoscientists in fulfilling multidisciplinary environmental and hydrogeological related projects, including but not limited to Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil Management, Site Remediation and Hydrogeological Study.
  • Collecting field samples and/or preparing laboratory samples as directed.
  • Prepare detailed field notes.
  • Recording test data and preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining records of data base, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards.
  • Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work.
  • Ensuring environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance.
  • Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
  • Travelling between worksites locally and within the region for extended periods of time and occasionally across Canada.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile:

  • University Degree in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or an environmental related field.
  • 1 to 3 years experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples required.
  • Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset.
  • Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and fieldtesting procedures required.
  • Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex topics and concepts, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently problemsolve, tackle new assignments and multitask in a busy work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs.
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain provincial, federal security clearances.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
  • Attention to detail is a must for this position.
