Your Contribution:
As an Environmental Technician, you will work in collaboration with the Environment team.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Assisting Project Managers, Engineers and Geoscientists in fulfilling multidisciplinary environmental and hydrogeological related projects, including but not limited to Phase I/One and II/Two Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Excess Soil Management, Site Remediation and Hydrogeological Study.
Collecting field samples and/or preparing laboratory samples as directed.
Prepare detailed field notes.
Recording test data and preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor.
Maintaining records of data base, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards.
Consistently executing prescribed technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work.
Ensuring environmental management, planning and regulatory compliance.
Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings.
Maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts.
Travelling between worksites locally and within the region for extended periods of time and occasionally across Canada.
Performing other related duties as assigned.

Your Profile:

University Degree in Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or an environmental related field.
1 to 3 years experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples required.
Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset.
Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and fieldtesting procedures required.
Working knowledge of both provincial and federal environmental regulations would be an asset.
Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to complex topics and concepts, working independently and as part of a team.
Ability to effectively and efficiently problemsolve, tackle new assignments and multitask in a busy work environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to perform detailed analysis in various software programs.
Possession of or eligibility to obtain provincial, federal security clearances.
Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
Attention to detail is a must for this position.
