    POSITION SUMMARY

    Westbank First Nation is looking to hire 5 enthusiastic and hardworking students, who are interested in public works and utilities and desires some hands-on experience.

    The Student Labourer is responsible for performing the daily tasks required to assist the landscape/maintenance crew to ensure cleanup of all jobs are properly completed.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Students must be 14 years of age or older and returning to secondary or post-secondary school in the fall of 2024.

    Any student ages will be required to have a legal guardian complete the "parent or guardians written consent to employ a child" form prior to employment.

    No Experience necessary / related experience would be an asset
    Must have own transportation

    REQUIREMENTS
    Criminal Record Check with results acceptable to WFN

    Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of theWestbank First Nation.

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES
    Performs maintenance duties as part of the department's landscape and infrastructure maintenance activities as it aligns with the BC Employment "Light Work" Standards
    Assists fellow crew members to ensure economical, cost-effective, and efficient use of resources
    Complies with all applicable safety regulations and procedures
    Fills out and hands in a timesheet at the completion of each work day to ensure proper accounting forexpenditures for labour, materials, and equipment
    Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by a direct supervisor.
    Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Westbank First Nation policies, standards and procedures
    Maintains confidentiality on all matters related to the affairs of Westbank First Nation and clients
    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
    Ability to work cooperatively with others
    Ability to work independently or within a team structure
    Sound physical condition is required to complete daily tasks
    The hourly range for this position i $ $23.00
    This position is a summer student position which is set to end on August 30, 2024
