    Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Concurrent Disorder Clinician with a Master's Degree in a Behavioural Health discipline to join theAdultMental Healthteam at Bella Coola Hospital in Bella Coola, BC.

    Hybrid work schedules may be available (including both on site & remote) as applicable (with existing VCH policies and collective agreement requirements), where a rotation can be discussed, as well as travel, transport & housing options.

    Participates in case conferences, team meetings, continuing education, and/or corporate initiatives and engages in on-going team planning, development, evaluation and quality improvement activities.

    The community is at the end of a long, truly magnificent fjord, on the mainland coast of British Columbia.

    Bella Coola General Hospital has 10 acute bed, 5 long term care beds and a 3 bed emergency department open 24/7, along with a laboratory, diagnostic imaging services, Telehealth, Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Support Services.

    Also within the hospital are a medical clinic and a pharmacy.

    provides emergency nursing care to patients/clients of all ages presenting to the emergency department with a wide variety of symptoms.

    Enhances quality of life from the perspective of the client/resident/patient and/or family. Participates on designated committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.

    Three (3) years' recent related experience providing professional services to the designated client population who have substance abuse and mental health illness, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Valid BC Driver's License as required. Local area travel may require the use of a personal vehicle.

    Broad knowledge of bio-psycho-social issues that may occur in response to changing mental health and alcohol and/or other drug needs.

    Broad knowledge of legislation, government policies and procedures that relate to the client.
    Demonstrated ability to draw out and honour information that will contribute to understanding of the client's situation.

    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, referral sources, medical personnel, and community agency personnel.

    Skilled in the use of equipment, and in the techniques appropriate for treatment.

    Basic computer literacy to operate a computerized client care information system and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, Internet and e-mail software.

    As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

    Proof of vaccination status will be required.
