    The Registered Pharmacy Technician position is a regulated position that requires the individual to be licensed with the provincial college of pharmacy.

    In addition to all duties that can be performed by a pharmacy assistant, the RPT is able to conduct some restricted activities under the indirect supervision of a pharmacist.

    The authorized duties of the technician are limited by legal restrictions imposed by individual Provincial Pharmacy Regulatory Bodies.
    The ideal candidate will be able to accurately and efficiently check prescription requests in an automated refill setting.

    The Pharmacy Technician maintains continuous, consistent work flow in order to meet daily production goals; and has the ability to work productively either independently or as a team.

    The RPT will be involved in monitoring and adapting workflow as we expand our central fill operation to include blister packs, vial filling, and compounding.

    They will be involved in helping to plan and manage new workflows to determine what our workflow looks like and how it should be run and organized.

    Here's where you'll be focusing:

    RPT's will have independent authority, responsibility, and liability to prepare, process and compound prescriptions including:

    Receiving and transcribing verbal prescriptions from practitioners
    Ensuring prescriptions are complete and authentic
    Providing injections/vaccinations as applicable by regulations in certain jurisdictions
    Transferring prescriptions to and receiving prescriptions from other pharmacies
    Ensuring the accuracy of prepared prescriptions
    Conducting the final check of prepared prescriptions
    Confirming the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records

    What you have to offer:

    Completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification
    Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
    Previous Pharmacy experience preferable.
