As a Contract Faculty member you will play a key role by promoting academic excellence, developing an effective learning environment, and designing, teaching, revising and updating curriculum.

Your previous working experiences will provide a broad range of practical knowledge to enhance the student learning experience.

Contract Faculty may teach in teams or independently and develop/deliver curriculum in a variety of ways including face-to-face (lectures, seminars, labs) and online.

We are currently recruiting Contract Faculty to teach in our Employment Counselling program.

This course is delivered fully online and covers the following criteria:


  • This intensive interactive course will increase your skills as an employment counsellor in serving the most barriered clients, giving you the confidence and tools needed to help jobseekers secure sustainable employment and create successful outcomes for your organization.
  • Prerequisite: 6 months working in the field and a base knowledge of Career Theory and Counselling Ethics.
The responsibilities of Fleming College Contract Faculty include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating a positive learning environment that accommodates students' diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
  • Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage students in the learning process.
  • Effectively using educational technologies to support learning as well as managing and posting grades.
  • Execute and develop a curriculum that uses appropriate strategies and tools to assess and deepen student learning.
  • Ensuring that all course content is current and relevant.
  • Working independently and demonstrating initiative; and
  • Working effectively with students, the program team, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

What We Are Looking For:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent industry experience that relates directly to the topic being taught.
  • Holds a Master's degree (or higher) in Education or related degree.
  • Superior skills in the areas of verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Track record in meeting deadlines.
  • Experienced in the use of technology to support student learning and manage grades.
  • Selfmotivated and independent worker who also functions well in a team environment.
  • Committed to lifelong learning.
  • Understanding of the Ontario community college system.
