    Position Overview:

    Avidbots is looking for a strong leader in our PMO team to help us scale and implement best practices across multiple programs. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in software development, new features, new product introduction and product support for both hardware and SAAS products. As the ideal candidate you have managed large multidisciplinary projects in the past, managing a program budgets of $5-10M.

The ideal candidate is organized, capable of managing risks across multiple projects and deliverables, and has a proven ability to deliver against business objectives and goals through motivation and strong leadership. You are motivated to contribute to continuous improvement across our organization, using change management skills, negotiation and persuasion to champion adoption of new and improved processes, tools, and implementation of best practices leveraging metrics analysis to meet and exceed KPIs.

    The selected candidate will work in the Program Management Office and directly report to the Director, PMO

    This is a hybrid role based 2-3 days per week on site in our Kitchener HQ

    Responsibilities:

    • Exhibit advanced wide-ranging experience, using in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, concepts and best practices to deliver on company objectives
    • Provide solutions to issues in creative and effective ways
    • Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines across product development and new product introduction
    • Understand and work on complex issues using analytical techniques and data-driven decision making
    • Motivate and manage the project teams to achieve the project objectives
    • Collaborate closely with the Product Management, Architecture, Systems Engineers and functional Engineers through the ideation, proof of concept, detailed design, NPI and release of new products and features and to improve existing products and platforms according to Avidbots' processes
    • Manage and Control program and project scope, risks, schedule, and cost
    • Contribute to resource management through capacity levelling based on the product and technical roadmap across programs
    • Manage resource within your programs for effective delivery
    • Monitor and report on the health of your programs and projects against defined metrics and KPIs
    • Leverage metrics and retrospectives to recommend and execute on efficiency improvements to achieve Excellence and Quality
    • Coordinate with supply chain, manufacturing, customer care and quality for new product introduction strategies and execution
    • Coordinate with finance on program budgets, spend and reporting
    • Produce status reports for Senior leadership and Executive
    • Communicate and manage critical milestones across key stakeholders
    • Govern and ensure compliance to the R&D processes
    • Determine when to escalate issues and to whom
    • Contribute to the overall PMO strategy, structure, and improvements
    • Be empowered to make recommendations and critical program decisions based on data and consulting with key stakeholders

    Requirements:

    • BSc. or Msc. in Software/Electrical Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience in a technical Senior Program Management role.
    • Minimum of 10 years in a Program Management role, mainly in SW product development with delivery onto hardware and SAAS products across multiple engineering disciplines.
    • Experience in managing multiple Programs and Projects in all stages of the product life-cycle.
    • Skilled in Project Management SW and ERP tools.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience reporting and interfacing directly with senior leadership and executive level.
    • Strong understanding of SW development best practices, agile methodologies (Agile, SAFE) and SAAS product management
    • Strong understanding of NPI including manufacturing and supply-chain concepts.
    • Experience in technical product development.
    • Experience drafting and executing third party development agreements.
    • Experience with managing third party contractors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
    • Proven ability to drive quality through rigorous project execution, and verification and validation testing methodologies.
    • Successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that may include criminal/civil background checks

    Nice-to-Haves:

    • Experience in robotics
    • Experience with regulatory requirements for EMI, functional and electrical safety, and data privacy
    • Experience with regulatory requirements for Global Market Access
    • Experience with Smartsheets, Jira, and Confluence
    • Experience with overseas outsourcing and manufacturing
    • Experience with IP protection, information security
    • Experience with UX design

    What we offer:

    Compensation is one of the main components of Avidbots' Total Rewards Program. We have developed a series of programs and processes to ensure we are creating fair and competitive pay practices that form the foundation of our human and high-performing culture.

    The estimated pay range for this role, based on similarly leveled roles in the organization is:

    • Based in Canada: $107, $134,000.00
    • This role may be eligible to participate in Avidbots' equity plan
    • This role is eligible for the following benefits:
      • Vacation: starting at 3 weeks (15 business days)
      • Additional paid time off between the observed Christmas Holiday through New Year's day
      • 2 paid Volunteer Days
      • Flexible paid sick time
      • Extended Health Coverage starting day 1 (premiums paid by Avidbots)

    *Please note that the expected compensation provided is derived from a group of like roles within Avidbots. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
