Summary:


The Operational Technology (OT) Manager will play a key part in the Americas in meeting the growing needs of our expanding portfolio of assets and services and how RES delivers its core business services.

This role is vital to ensuring OT serving the Americas region is maintained and adapted to support business change, by ensuring:


  • OT systems and infrastructure performs and scales to support business growth
  • Effective data acquisition, system resilience and cyber security capabilities are inherent in OT system design and operation
  • OT standardization and simplification practices are progressively established globally
  • OT improvement projects are effectively supported in terms of technology delivery into operations
  • OT systems are maintained in compliance with relevant technology regulations and standards
  • Technology and service cost optimization measures are continually assessed and practiced


Travel to other RES sites, outside of primary works locations, will be required typically every one to two months to establish and maintain key stakeholders and customer relations.


Reporting to the Cyber Security, OT and Architecture Director this role will focus on the operational support, maintenance and improvement of deployed OT systems and infrastructure serving the Americas region.


Requirements:

The person in this role will provide leadership and technical direction of OT Operations in the America region so to:

  • Manage OT infrastructure on behalf of RES Americas O&M, Asset Management, and Controls Center departments. This includes OT infrastructure at Solar, Wind, and Battery Storage facilities as well as central infrastructure and communication methods to sites.
  • Oversee and undertake incident response and resolution for RES owned or maintained central and sitebased OT systems and infrastructure to uphold agreed levels of data acquisition and asset reliability which allow RES to robustly deliver its business services
  • Manage business requests and technical changes impacting OT systems in line with agreed standards and service levels
  • Support the successful delivery of technology changes associated to projects so to progressively improve the standardization, performance, security and scalability of OT systems and infrastructure
  • Perform technical planning to ensure repeatable and timely execution of the adoption of new generation sites into a BAU support regime provided by the OT Function
  • Support the identification and where approved the introduction of new technologies which will help the business grow, enhance OT resilience and business competitiveness.
  • Provide OT system upgrade recommendations to Clients demonstrating the financial benefit
  • Contribute to Client contract agreements to ensure solution meets all parties' requirements in terms of OT systems operations and data acquisition
  • Build and maintain internal and external relationships with key partners and industry bodies to ensure success, (such as maintaining awareness of industry standards and OEM system enhancements)
  • Produce regular reporting to track OT systems operational performance in terms data acquisition and system and infrastructure reliability within the OT Team and to key America's business stakeholders in particular in Support Services
  • Ensure best practice OT cyber security standards are followed in adherence with the RES Cyber Security Framework to support the key business objectives of RES and our clients
  • Orchestrate and oversee security penetration testing of OT systems and infrastructure to ensure the effective management and remediation of any resulting improvement actions
  • Establish and maintain a knowledge management repository for OT system and infrastructure to uphold service levels on change delivery and operational support
  • Serve as RES NERC CIP Compliance Officer for all NERC CIP registered facilities

Qualifications:


  • 5 or more years' experience in IT or OT, as well as Build and Run/Service Delivery, required
  • Bachelor's Degree in technology management or engineering, preferred
  • Certification in architecting, deploying, and securing enterprise or OT related cloud platforms including Azure, AWS and Google, preferred
  • Vendor qualifications or equivalent in leading firewall and networking technologies such as Fortinet and Cisco, preferred
  • 3 or more years' experience leading geographically distributed teams, preferred
  • 3 or more years' experience managing cyber security arrangements in IT or OT environments, preferred
  • Ability to travel 5 to 15%, required
  • Valid driver's license and eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage, required
