Position Description


As the Shipper / Receiver, you will ensure the accurate loading and shipment of products from the plant to Customers, and the accurate receipt and storage of goods into the plant.

This includes the loading/unloading of dry-van trailers, straight trucks, and tankers, and all UPS related activities on behalf of the plant, office, and laboratory.

Further training will focus on the preparation of customs documents for cross border work and other duties as assigned.

As this is a revised position for our facility, you are a person who is dynamic, flexible, and able to develop policies/processes when needed to facilitate the immediate job requirements as well as rapid business growth.


Position Responsibilities

  • Valid forklift license with experience loading/unloading trailers, pallet racking, and general material handling best practices.
  • Experience handling liquid wastes a definite asset.
  • 3+ years of material handling and shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent computer skills with intermediate knowledge of MS Office products.
  • UPS software experience a definite asset.
  • Sound knowledge of general shipping/receiving processes
  • Familiarity with cross border shipping requirements, customs paperwork, and related documentation an asset
  • Valid G Class drivers license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Load/unload incoming and outgoing trailers, tankers, and straight trucks as needed.
  • Verification of all loads to provided paperwork.
  • Safe operation of forklift and all required material handling to support the transportation and storage of products within the plant.
  • Work with management to facilitate periodic inventories.
  • Prepare and ship all UPS, Fedex, or other courier shipments at end of day on behalf of the plant, laboratory, and office.
  • Potential offsite use of 3stage filtration unit as needed (with training)
  • All other duties as required.
