    About this opportunity:

    Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance Execution, the Maintenance Quality Control Inspection Technologist will work within the Mechanical Department and be responsible for providing quality control and inspection support to the routine maintenance group for the Cenovus Heavy Oil Upgrading Facility.

  • This position is located in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
  • This is a full-time employee position.
  • What you'll do:

  • Prepare, plan and supervision of replacement in kind and repair/alteration packages for piping and pressure equipment.
  • Perform inspections of pressure equipment.
  • Develop and maintain the Project Quality Assurance (QA) Job File for each fabricated item or piping system and/or, Repair and Alteration procedure.
  • Develop and/or verify examinations, verifications, inspections and testing per the Inspection and Test Plan are performed.
  • Coordinate and supervise field inspections, examination, NDE, testing and quality surveillance.
  • Maintain a leak seal log and nonconformance log to ensure follow up of remedial actions.
  • Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Journeyman Welder experienced in field quality control or Technical Diploma in one of the following technologies: Mechanical, Welding or Materials, Journeyman Pipefitter
  • Minimum 5 years related Industrial experience.
  • Minimum 3 years previous field equipment inspection experience and training
  • Registered or eligibility for registration with ASET and/or SASTT.
  • Preference for CGSB and ASNT non-destructive testing certification/experience
  • Preference for API 510, 570, 650 certifications (will be required for career progression)
  • As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

    For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
