Description
Responsibilities:
- Visit customer locations for the purpose of deployment, troubleshooting or service migration
- Monitor, analyze, troubleshoot and/or evaluate hardware, software, and other VoIP/Phone network related problems
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues, as necessary.
- Troubleshoot VoIP issues including compatibility, performance, and quality of services
- Prepare for upcoming hardware installations by provisioning IP telephony hardware (Sangoma)
- Coordinates number porting activations with carriers, and resellers
- Pretests newly established SIP Trunks and coordinates customer cuts with reseller partners
- Evaluates new equipment, such as IP phones, ATAs and toolsets Protocols & Concepts
- SIP, H.323, MGCP, ISDN (Voice PRI/BRI), Analog Telephony (FXO/FXS), Quality of Service (QoS) and voice quality issues, dialpeers, T.38, fax over IP, TCP/IP, and fundamental routing & switching knowledge
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in computer science or information technology is preferred
- Strong understanding of Asterisk administration, VoIP and Softphone implementation and support
- Experience with Sangoma products (PBXact/FreePBX/Gateway, Session Border Controllers)
- Prior experience in tech support, desktop support, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux (RHEL)
- Certification in Microsoft or Linux is advantageous.
- Working understanding of SQL and relational databases (MySQL)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and good problemsolving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong Teamwork skills with good conflict management skills include diplomacy, empathy, negotiation, assertiveness and compromise
- Good written and verbal communication.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work a flexible and rotating work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights as well as oncalls
- Ability to multitask and operate independently, with the decisionmaking skills needed to tackle potentially highstress situations
Salary:
$20.00-$21.00 per hour
