    Position Summary

    Are you someone with a strong passion for assisting others? If you are a registered Respiratory Therapist seeking to showcase your expertise in a new and dynamic setting, we have an exciting opportunity for you in our Respiratory Services department.

    Aligned with the organization's vision and values, the Respiratory Therapist practices as per the professional standards outlined by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) within a client and family-centered care model.

    Delivers respiratory care to clients with various illnesses in a multidisciplinary environment, focusing on improving client/family quality of life. Collaborates with health care professionals, participates in continuous improvement, and maintains clinical competence.



    Shift Rotation/Hours of work:
    Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating

    New Wage:
    Effective April 1, 2024, the new wage is: $47.31/hour

    University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) stands as the largest Acute Care facility in the Northern Health region and serves as a hub for specialized health services.

    It's also a teaching hospital:

    • Offers undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program
    • Hosts residents in UBC's Family Practice Residency Program
    • Functions as a key clinical education site for nursing and various health sciences students
    UHNBC has witnessed significant enhancements, including expansions, renovations, and new equipment installations exceeding $100 million since 2001:

    • Patient care addition with a modernized emergency room and updated ICU
    • State-of-the-art maternal-child care center
    • Infrastructure to support undergraduate physician training
    • Installation of an MRI unit
    UHNBC also houses a cancer treatment center for Northern BC, providing a range of cancer therapies such as radiation therapy.

    Qualifications

    • Completion of recognized Respiratory Therapy program
    • Certification with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and eligibility for registration
    • Valid BC Driver's License as per specific practice area requirements
