Accounting Clerk

Alberta Innovates is seeking an Accounting Clerk for our Finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for fixed asset activities and accounts payable processing.

Intrigued? Here's some more information about the position:
The successful incumbent will be accountable for, but not limited to the following:
Additions, disposals, maintenance and amortization for fixed assets.
Review and enter expenditure contracts in the financial system.
Processing vendor invoices on a timely basis in compliance with contract terms and conditions. Confirm appropriate expenditure officer approvals have been obtained prior to payment.
Process weekly cheque runs.
Recurring and posting journal entries, and performing month end close process for account receivables and payables.
Reconcile GL accounts.
Recording transactions accurately.
Maintaining confidentiality of client and vendor information.

Qualifications;
A degree in Accounting or Finance
Enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) program
Two years of related accounting experience
Attention to detail
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Flexible and Adaptable
Working in a team environment and independently
Proficiency in Excel
Knowledge of accounting software program(s)
Effective collaboration and communication skills
Organization, planning, and prioritization skills
