Latem Industries operates in an 80,000 sq ft, 18-bay facility, directly off of Highway 401 in Cambridge, Ontario. We process more than 15 million parts each month and we are currently searching for a Plant Manager. This role has a salary of $95,000/year plus 5% profit sharing.

Position Summary:


  • Ensure the successful operation of the company.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Plan, organize, and run daytoday operations while exceeding our customers' expectations,
  • Coordinate, manage, and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization,
  • Increase production and asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintain current quality standards,
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity
  • Implement and manage operational plans
  • Responsibility for production output, product quality and ontime shipping,
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results,
  • Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas to improve
  • Optimize productive time for employees by eliminating unnecessary processes
  • Utilize systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets,
  • Find ways to reduce production costs.
  • Implement strategies to maximize production.
  • Manage and develop plant staff,
  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime,
  • Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety regulations
  • Ensure all compliance needs are met
  • Develop strategies to increase productivity and production
  • Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations
  • Practice conflict resolution among departments and employees
  • Report and track expenses to reduce costs

Financial:


  • Review and utilize financial statements and data to improve efficiency
  • Control inventory
  • Monitor and Manage Waste treatment facility and all controls and reports with the city
  • Monitor/Manage the Ministry of the Environment Air and Subject Waste Inspections and report
  • Monitor and manage EnPowered Hydro portal for peak hours and hydro usage.
  • Reportable Substances do government reporting for reportable substances.
  • HWIN system renewal
  • Responsible for the submission and approval of our Clean Air Act, and External Noise Pollution reports and documentation

Best Practices:


  • Oversee Quality/Process Engineer to improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals
  • Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output

Human Resources:


  • Delegation of tasks and accountabilities
  • Establish work schedules
  • Supervise, monitor, and evaluate staff
Must have 5+ years minimum proven experience as a Plant Manager

  • Proven experience working in plant operations required
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
  • Familiar with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
  • Exceptional organizational and timemanagement skills
  • Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time
