Summary
The Store Manager oversees the store's day to day operations. Responsibilities include the implementation of management strategies and processes to drive customer service, store sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervises and facilitates the daily operations of the store.
- Opens and closes the store.
- Provides direction, guidance, training, instruction, performance management and support to all store associates as required.
- Ensures store conditions are consistently upheld to established standards.
- Creates weekly staffing schedules; ensuring staffing levels adequately meet business need using Dayforce.
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
- Liaise with the various departments of the store to ensure information is conveyed properly and expectations are communicated
- Greets and assists customers in a way that models exemplary conduct to other staff.
- Ensures customer's needs are met, complaints are resolved and service is quick and efficient.
- Ensures all health, safety and food regulations are adhered to and required standards are met
- Oversees and assists in inventory management.
- Leads staff to meet store operational goals and quality delivery of customer service.
- Provides support to associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise.
- Ensures company policies and relevant legislation are consistently adhered to and upheld by all staff members.
- Other duties assigned as required by management to meet business needs.
Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a large format grocery/supermarket.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in a Manager/Supervisor role in a retail/supermarket.
- Postsecondary education and/or experience in merchandising and/or business management.
- Experience with Dayforce HRM.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty.
- Excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff.
- Able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong customer service, troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Welldefined sense of diplomacy.
- Strong management, leadership and communication skills.
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
- Understanding of applicable health, safety and food legislation.
- Available to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions
- Able to operate in changing temperatures on a regular basis
- Ability to maneuver up to 50 lbs
- Able to walk & stand for extended periods of time
