    Job Description


    Our client is a well-established and growing Tier 1 manufacturer with several plants operating and a view to further acquisitions and expansion. Business is very good. Profitable, stable and ready to renew systems and procedures to facilitate current and future growth and development. This role will be a key new addition to the Engineering Team.

    Key Responsibilities:


    The Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) is responsible for providing support to the production process. More precisely, the incumbent:

    1. Designs automated machinery and tooling for metal forming applications.
    2. Determines the process and methods required for material design (speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force) as related to machine and tool designs.
    3. Responsible for drawing review to ensure manufacturability (material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness).
    4. Liaison with electrical designers to define and review electrical specifications.
    5. Participates in cross functional APQP meetings, providing technical specifications to internal team to ensure timelines are met.
    6. Analyzes and evaluates internal and external fabrication for manufacturability and cost.
    7. Provides specifications and quotations for purchased and manufactured parts.
    8. Creates and maintains drawings and machine documentation to be utilized for manuals and lessons learned.

    Job Requirements:


    1. University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Design & Analysis is required.
    2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in mechanical design in an automotive manufacturing environment.
    3. Solid understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (metal forming, robotics, automation).
    4. Practical knowledge of GD&T with the capacity to communicate requirements.
    5. Theoretical understanding of electrical devices and servo systems.
    6. Perform other duties as assigned.
    7. The ability to freely travel across borders (USA).
    8. Valid Driver's license.
    9. Strong technical and analytical aptitudes for problem solving.
    10. Good analytical ability.
    11. Computer literate – AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel.
    12. Strong interpersonal and team skills.
    13. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    14. Prioritizing / time management skills, ability to cope with multiple tasks.
