    Electrical Engineer in Training – Toronto, ON

    Responsibilities:

    You will assist in all aspects of electrical projects for our clients, including:

  • Electrical and Telecommunication Utility coordination
  • Design of:
  • Medium voltage distribution
  • Low voltage distribution
  • Emergency backup systems (generator and/or UPS)
  • Grounding
  • Fire alarm
  • Lighting and lighting controls
  • Security/data/phone
  • Process electrical and automation power and control requirements * Modeling and analyzing electrical power systems using SKM PowerToolsTM
  • Modelling electrical systems in AutoCAD and Revit;
  • Design and develop specifications for low voltage power distribution equipment;
  • Perform protection co-ordination, short circuit analysis, load flow analysis and arc flash hazard studies.
  • Writing and reviewing equipment, tender and installation specifications.
  • Coordination and collaboration with other members of project team.
  • Field reviews and field review reports.
  • Construction and equipment procurement follow-up.
  • Support during start-up and commissioning.
  • Key Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical engineering
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience
  • Current registration with PEO as a EIT or registration with another Provincial Engineering Association
  • Ability to manage small scale electrical projects while assuming responsibility for all design and execution aspects (client coordination, electrical design of base building and process systems, drawings preparation)
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is a must.
  • Experience with SKM PowerToolsTM, AGI32, Bluebeam.
  • Strong knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
  • Strong background in application of OESC 28th Edition to low voltage base building designs.
  • Proficiency in a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques.
  • Experience in consulting engineering in the pharmaceutical or food and beverage industries an asset.
  • Experience in process engineering (light industrial, food and beverage or pharmaceutical facilities) an asset.
  • Flexibility to travel.
  • Automation knowledge is a plus.
