We are seeking a dynamic individual who will be an important part of our economic research team.

The Conference Board of Canada is the nation's largest independent applied research organization offering unbiased, evidence-based information and analysis to both industry and federal/provincial governments.

We have one of the country's largest private economic analysis and forecasting teams and are widely recognized for expert economic forecasting, modeling, and leading analysis.

Simply put, we deliver insights that help leaders cut through the noise and make informed decisions.


We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada.

To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator.

Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.


About the Role

  • Conduct economic analyses and produce high quality work requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed methodology.
  • Filter large amounts of information/research and stay current on issues affecting assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Support research projects of varying complexity utilizing your knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Development and maintenance of forecast models.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of data sets (both proprietary and public).
  • Assist and contribute to research projects both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prepare reports and other content for internal or external customers.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and consistently deliver superior customer service.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Produce high quality work and consistently demonstrate professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers.
  • Work with the Associate Director and other members of the team to identify new product and service opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Between 1 to 2 years of professional experience in a related role as an economist or analyst.
  • Master's in Economics.
  • Experience with EViews or other data analysis software
  • Demonstrated experience with programming
  • Strong research skills and a demonstrated proficiency in synthesizing complex concepts and information from a variety of sources.
  • Advanced communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of internal and external contacts and customers.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
